At Montgomery First Seventh-day Adventist Church, ministry isn’t just spoken—it’s served. Every month, members and guests are welcomed not only with spiritual nourishment but with meals that reflect the church’s deep commitment to health, healing, and wholeness.
Under the guidance of the Health Ministries Department, our kitchen has become a beacon of safe, nutritious, and faith-inspired food preparation. Guided by the timeless health principles of Ellen G. White, we’re making sure that each plate served supports the body, uplifts the spirit, and honors God.
“Food is ministry!" "We believe that what we feed our bodies affects our ability to serve God and others with strength and clarity.”
5 Ways We Practice Food Safety Every Time We Serve:
Wash hands and sanitize surfaces thoroughly before cooking.
Keep raw and cooked foods separate using different tools and cutting boards.
Cook foods to proper temperatures using food thermometers.
Use only fresh, wholesome plant-based ingredients whenever possible.
Store food properly to avoid spoilage and contamination.
These principles are more than hygiene—they’re acts of stewardship.
Our team regularly trains volunteers on these standards and offers public cooking demonstrations and wellness workshops that show just how tasty healthy, safe food can be. Our plant-based cooking classes have become a highlight for church members and local neighbors alike!
“When we serve food that heals, we’re showing people they matter to God.”
As we continue to grow this ministry, we invite every member and guest to join us—not just in the kitchen, but in the mission. Because at Montgomery First SDA, every meal is an opportunity to share health, hope, and God’s love.
