On Sunday, July 20, 2025, at 3:00 p.m., the Montgomery First Seventh-day Adventist Church will celebrate the grand inauguration and dedication of its brand-new community playground—a project that has blossomed into reality through months of faithful work, selfless giving, and tireless collaboration.

What began as a dream in early February has now become a vibrant space designed for children and families to enjoy, learn, and grow together. The church’s Children’s Ministry, inspired by the desire to create a safe and joyful environment for kids, boldly stepped forward to lead the initiative. However, this effort quickly turned into a beautiful example of church-wide unity, as other departments joined in with equal passion.

The Women’s Ministry and Men’s Ministry brought both strength and care to the project, offering planning support, organizing volunteers, and rolling up their sleeves for the hands-on work. Health Ministries contributed valuable insight into creating a wellness-focused outdoor environment, ensuring the park would not only entertain but also support physical activity and healthy development for all ages.

Behind the scenes, an outpouring of anonymous donations from both church members and community supporters helped fund the materials, equipment, and finishing touches. These generous contributions—given quietly but with great love—played a critical role in making the park possible.

In addition, the church partnered with The Wellness Coalition, whose guidance has been instrumental. From early brainstorming meetings to community outreach and on-site support, the REACH team worked in tandem with Montgomery First SDA to bring this vision to fruition.

Every Sunday since February, rain or shine, volunteers have gathered on the church grounds to work. Young and old, ministry leaders and new members, families and friends—all showed up to clear land, install equipment, plant greenery, and build a space that reflects God’s love and the church’s commitment to its neighborhood. What stands today is not just a park—it is a monument of service, unity, and hope.

The inauguration ceremony on July 20 at 3 p.m. promises to be a joyful and meaningful event, open to all members of the community. It will include a brief dedication service, light refreshments, and a celebration of the many hands and hearts that made this vision a reality.

The Montgomery First SDA Church invites everyone—friends, neighbors, and partners—to join this special occasion and see firsthand what can happen when faith meets action and a church comes together for its community.
